As part of our ongoing commitment to providing safe, supportive learning environments, SSD is implementing several districtwide changes to student support practices beginning with the 2026-27 school year.

The Governing Council will hold a special election for the open Board of Education seat in Subdistrict 2, which represents Affton, Bayless, Hancock Place, and Mehlville school districts.

Students and staff at Neuwohener High School and Southview School spent time in the sun planting seeds and learning about plants and ways to help clean the environment in honor of Earth Day.

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) took students and staff on a magical journey when they performed a Musical Quest at Neuwoehner High School.

Students from Neuwoehner High School and Litzsinger School participated in an annual Career Fair, connecting with industry professionals from Boeing, The Humane Society of Missouri, Mercy Hospital, St. Louis Community College, Pappy’s Smokehouse, and The Heights Community Center.

Neuwoehner High School welcomed back Roots in Blue, the Air Force’s Rock Band from Scott Air Force Base, for a high-energy concert and dance party featuring classics and recent hit songs.

Special School District invites all interested parties to review and discuss curricula virtually within our SSD special education and CTE schools before they are submitted to the Board of Education for approval.
